Melbourne: September 19, 2012

I've realized that I have an incredible set of friends who I'm sure in some way or another I owe my life too. They've allowed me to stay at their homes this past month in both Canada and Australia. Maybe it's my incredible desire to be independent, because I always have had to be, but I do feel like a strain on them. I'm consistently astonished when anyone is kind without any pay back, but it's so common. I don't know if that's a reflection of the environment I was raised in or what I consistently see in the news; especially here in Australia, but it strikes so deep.

We've all changed a lot over the past year and it's a testament to the human condition that even though on opposite sides of the planet my friends and I have developed similar opinions. Is that to say that the people we develop strong connections with will have similar life paths regardless of our impact on them   and that is what truly brings us together? Who's to say, regardless it's nice to have that net of consensus to fall back on when I'm feeling afraid or lonely.

Today I'm heading in to the city to be shown by a friend of a friend around areas that I'll likely want to live in. I'm nervous about the next upcoming interviews I have this week, but of the two I have one will surely turn in to a job which means that my next step will be to find a place to live. My favourite part. Always moving.
